Sally de Jongh

It has been my privilege to have been a member of the Harlyn governing body for sixteen years. Both my daughters

attended the school from the nursery upwards, and then moved on to Watford Grammar school for girls.  One is currently in

her third year of university, and the other preparing for her A levels for next Spring.

I am retired but did work within Local Authority, for many years so do have some knowledge of ‘how it works!’

I am available during the day and can be quite busy attending various sub committee meetings and sitting on interview panels,

for both teaching and non-teaching staff.

Harlyn is a very happy school where the children are cared for and educated well, and we have an excellent senior management team.

My special interests within the school are with our SEN department, Safeguarding and  Child Protection.

I have watched this department grow until we now are hugely respected for our provision for SEN children.

The Governing Board is very dedicated in its strategic role within the school and we will continue to work together with the

Head Teacher to ensure  Harlyn continues to be a successful school where parents will continue to want their children educated.

Dr Mike Simons

Long-serving Governor nominated by the Local Education Authority. Father of three, who were educated in the Eastcote / Northwood Hills

area, and grandfather to five. Worked as a principal research scientist at Kodak in Wealdstone, now retired. Very aware of the importance

of the best education for children of all abilities, and keen to support Harlyn in achieving this.

Academic background is in the sciences and maths, other interests include the natural world, walking, travelling, sailing, the local

community and local politics.

Abi Ajibola

Is married with two children who are currently teenagers. She is an IT consultant and a professional with an immense amount of

experience.

She has previously worked in a professional services company which is number one in the world and currently works with Lloyds

Banking Group.

Abi is passionate about young people fulfilling their purpose no matter their background, she is currently studying a Masters'

program in Applied Anthropology, Community and Youth Work.

She is passionate about serving and enjoys her role as a School Governor utilising her IT knowledge.

Adrian Richardson

I joined Harlyn as a co-opted Governor earlier in 2022 and have recently taken on more responsibility for the

Finance Committee. Following 25 years in financial services, I am newly qualified as an Economics teacher.

I live locally in Northwood Hills and spend my spare time running and playing five-a-side football.

Dr Narinder Heyer-Chauhan

I am a research scientist with several years of experience working in academic, commercial and government research laboratories.

Both my children have attended Harlyn Primary with one currently in Year 6. My educational interests are mainly in the sciences,

music and languages. I have carried out the role of Parent and Co-opted Governor at Harlyn for seven years and believe that my

experience in this role has allowed me to really know our school and work together with the school and the rest of the governing

board to bring out the best possible outcomes for all Harlyn’s pupils.

Pedro Borelli Valentim

Children are my priority, and I guide my work as a Parent Governor in this way. Whether it is helping the school to ensure the best

use of resources or updating and developing policies, I try to bring the perspective of those who depend on the school as an

essential service into the decision-making process. The primary school has a crucial role in preparing pupils for the challenges ahead.

I am happy to help Harlyn continue being a safe and welcoming environment where they can grow and thrive.

Murray Perkins

has a daughter in Year 4 and lives locally to Harlyn Primary School.  Murray is a consultant advising on media regulation and

age-verification, Director at 18North, and an advisory board member for an age-verification and digital ID company.

Murray's background in media regulation includes twenty years with the British Board of Film Classification, leading work to

implement online protections, and film classification in his  native New Zealand.  Murray continues to support measures to

improve online safety, both in the UK and abroad, so that our children can benefit from the best of the online world while

being protected from the worst of it.

As a parent and local resident, Murray is a strong believer in helping our school and its students achieve their potential and

values the opportunity to contribute as a Governor.

Michele Matonti

I have two children who attend Harlyn Primary School and have always been grateful for the hard work, expertise and passion that

goes into my children’s education. I hope to be able to bring some of my experience to the school to support and help where I can,

and the role of Governor gives that ambition the framework and context to do so. I have worked in the property industry for

most of  my career and enjoy working in, and managing, teams in some interesting, challenging and fun projects and hope to bring

some of that into my interactions with the school staff too.

David Fox

I have been teaching at Harlyn for 6 years now and am currently working as a Year 6 Class teacher.

I am the computing lead for the school and assist the co-ordination of Mathematics. Previously, I worked in another school in

Harrow for six years as a Teaching Assistant.

As Staff Governor, I represent the staff at Governing Board meetings. I am also on the Curriculum Committee as part of my role.
